Wine Growing started in 1829 by English Botanist Thomas Waters, his rootstock from the Groote Constantia Vineyards in Cape Town, South Africa. Winning our first International Medal in 1878 at a wine show in Paris France, the Swan Valley is Australia’s Premium Wine Region.

A mid morning visit to the Margaret River Chocolate Company and Luncheon at Valley View Restaurant (overlooking the vineyards and fields of the Swan Valley with views to the Darling Ranges) prepared for you by Stephen Connor (Awarded by Queen Elizabeth for excellence in food nutrition) and his team. Vineyard Platters of cheese, pate, smoked salmon, chicken, roast beef,

marinated vegetables, salad, fresh fruit, crackers, crustini and bread rolls. After Lunch Houghton Winery will be our last wine tasting, their White Classic (formally White Burgundy), Australia’s most celebrated wine, and the first Australian Wine to make the wine list of the House of Common’s in London, (a bottle will be Raffled on each tour).

The later afternoon, a leisurely drive into the Darling Ranges to the Heritage Rose Gardens for Devonshire Tea overlooking Trellises of Roses, Bird Baths and a Pond of colourful Japanese Koi. Returning to your hotel around 4:00PM.
